Doors seem to feature regularly in my paintings and design ideas.  I used an image found in google images of a locked door that gives the impression that it cannot be opened and is oppressive.

When Jesus was in the synagogue at Nazareth, he read from the scroll of Isaiah 61:1-2 (see Luke 4:16-21) and applied the prophecy to himself.  After he read the quote (which starts with the words quoted in this painting) he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down.  The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him, and he began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”  Jesus fulfilled the prophecy from Isaiah.  Only through him can we receive spiritual freedom.
