When I painted this, I was picturing the event of Jesus’ crucifixion. I found that I was compelled to quicken my painting to a frantic speed as there would have been so much tension and energy that would have been going on.
Jesus’ crucifixion was a defining moment in history, everything was coming to this point of time – the reason Jesus had been born which was brought on by the fall of man from the time of Adam and Eve. Jesus was being crucified, and yet He spoke of forgiveness to those who were hammering steel spikes into his hands and feet. He asked God the Father to forgive them – mind blowing! What an example of forgiveness.
