Even as I type this, I question myself on if I should include it in this website as it is very personal – more so than any other art work I have done, but I am including it as it has all the features that represents the style of artwork I do, and perhaps with sharing it, it could minister to others who have the same experience.
This painting was done as an expression of the estranged relationship with one of my daughters, and was done as kind of self-therapy. The statement ‘Does a mother forget a child she has borne?’ is a reference to a verse in Isaiah 49:15. The words at the bottom of the canvas are my personal addition. Even though I don’t record any promise from God in it, I find it comforting to know that God knows the connection that parents have with their children, especially mothers, and that He knows my heart and hears my prayers.
