In 2020 with Covid-19 pandemic first hitting the world, there had been a lot of worry with regards to health, jobs, economy and food supply etc. I felt the need to paint a picture in response. For the bible reference I used the verses in Matthew 6:25-34 and Luke 12:22-34 which are both titled in my NIV bible with ‘Do not worry.’ Both verses talk about how God looks after the birds, and that to God we are much more precious than many birds. God knows every minute detail about us, even how many hairs we have on our head, and he cares for us.
Just a side note: we have a cockatiel named Alfred who is attached to me and I to him. I had considered to use him as my photo reference and have the statement …’and to God we are worth more than many Alfred’s’ but I thought against it as the sparrow was a better fit to match the bible verses. I had thought how heart breaking I would be if anything happened to Alfred, then thought of how, as humans made in God’s image, we are worth much more to God and that He cares and values us.
The image of the sparrow and hand was found in google images.
