There is a place in New Plymouth called ‘Back Beach’, and it is dog friendly.  As our dog Buddy loves water, as well as chasing sticks, this is one of his most favourite places.

I love the art of the Impressionists, and one of things that I have liked about many of the their work has been making art of the area which they live and recording ordinary moments in their day with paint and pastel.

I liked the composition of this image which has the black sand blending to the shadow of the silhouette.  I also like the memory of the simple pleasure on seeing Buddy just enjoying life – which also gives us enjoyment.
