In New Plymouth there is the Govett Brewster Art Gallery / Len Lye Centre.  It has become very well known to locals and tourists because of its amazing building that has a wavy mirror cladding.  That creates interesting reflections of the buildings and clouds around it.

I have been doing some recent artworks of the New Plymouth area, and I chose to focus on just a top section, that has a warped image of the clock tower.  As the mirror is curved, it would be quite difficult to realise it was the towns clock tower in its reflection.  I liked the idea that this image looks abstract, even though it is based on a actual photo – with some artistic licence being used for the final painting.
