The title of this painting is from the Message translation of Revelation 1:3 ‘How blessed the reader!  How blessed the hearers and keepers of these oracle words, all the words written in this book!  Time is just about up.” 

End time events of Jesus’ return is picking up speed and intensity, just like the spiral going inwards.  The day will finally come when the central figure of creation (Jesus) will return.  I have represented Jesus as a glowing white heart.  In the book of Revelation, Jesus (the Son of Man) is described in 1:14 – ‘His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.’ And in 1:16 – ‘His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.’  The heart shape is because God is described as ‘love’ in the bible (1 John 4:8)

The scarlet thread represents God’s redemptive plan woven through time from the beginning of creation.  The 12 lines represent the sections of a clock, as all through the book of Revelation it is about timing.
