From the beginning of time, God orchestrated a plan for the restoration of mankind to himself.  The death of Jesus on a cross was a perfect sacrifice as payment for our sin.  I’ve heard the term of ‘The scarlet tread’ being messianic verses that speak about the coming messiah (The Christ).  There are messianic verses throughout the Old Testament.

In this painting there is a big cross that is visible if you are looking.  It reaches from the top edge of the canvas to the bottom.  Jesus is the ‘Alpha & Omega’ which is the Greek first and last letter – like our A to Z.  It is like saying that Jesus is from the beginning to the end.  The plan for our salvation was at the beginning of time through to the end of time.
