Pohutukawa In Fitzroy sketch

The area that I drew this sketch is by Lake Rotomanu in Fitzroy. The limbs of a Pohutukawa tree are always all over the place, quite a challenge to capture them correctly. I remember at the end I was using creative licence as I was getting quite lost with space and distance from each branch, but I was really happy with the final result. I painted a picture of the same scene a couple months after doing this sketch.
