
We are people who can be warm and friendly or cold and withdrawn or aggressive. We show it in our faces. It has been said that our eyes are the window to our soul.

When I sketched this, I didn’t realise that it would be a recording of my last time with my Dad. I feel very thankful that I had that time with him as he slept peacefully.

With the term ‘shine like stars’, stars seem even brighter in darkness, so Christians are to shine at dark times and in our generation.

In an office with the financial paperwork, an invoice will be stamped with ‘PAID’ when payment has been made. Jesus has paid off our debt of sin by his sacrifice and shedding of blood. No more payment is needed.

Another door idea, this time there are two ideas that I was thinking about. The first idea is that the doors open to different experiences that are behind those doors. Some feel safe, others feel dangerous.

Hebrews 4:12 says: ‘For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Imagine the disappointment when these taps don’t produce the water needed. The Christian believer is to be like a tap with God flowing through us to refresh others. The picture is of 4 taps not reaching their potential

Spring is nearly here and blossoms and new growth are beginning to bud. Seasons – what an amazing thing. We have seasons in our life as well. My girls are going from their spring into summer season.

I had been thinking of how we section our life, and some things end up having getting more of our time and attention. This is a picture of the sections of my life.

Doors representing decisions have been in my art ideas from way back when I was a teenager. This is a door of different choices and decisions. The different colours represent the different decisions.

I have often sketched my wooden mannikins for practice. Once I set them up as if they were in an embrace. It made me think about what an embrace can mean. I thought about the warmth and goodness of a safe affectionate embrace.

Jesus encouraged us to be salt and to be light. He would often use symbols to help teach a point. Salt is used for seasoning food that brings out flavour. In the old times without fridges, salt was used to preserve meat from rotting.

Many years ago, when our children little, I was as stay home mum. Dishes seemed to be the constant task (oh how I love dish washers!) and as it seemed to take up so much of the day I wanted to use the time in a productive way.

With the story of the woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-11), it is a powerful illustration of Jesus’ compassion, grace, mercy and wisdom. It is also an illustration of mankind’s brutality, slander and hateful heart.
